Life is spacious
Love is patience
I came up with the words to this song several weeks ago during a getaway with my friends. Dave Roush and I intended to record a version of this song with a melody of his devising that very weekend, but time got away from us, and instead the lot of us recorded Nice Things for David. Dave had this wonderful idea of setting up a chorus of our friends on canoes and kayaks, and allowing the natural reverb of the surroundings to bleed into the track. It is a shame that we never attempted it. I think the melody that I used today is similar to the one we had in mind. The words are simple “Life is spacious” refers to wide world of experience around us and ahead of us. “Love is patience” comments on the understanding we give to and receive from those we love, and it also encourages people not to lose heart if they have yet to find somebody. Simple stuff. Just bass and vocal harmonies.
Here’s hoping your Monday doesn’t totally suck.
